Avalanche warning for region Indre Fjordane Tuesday 17.12.2019

Locally unstable avalanche conditions in the alpine. Be careful of recently loaded storm slabs. A persistent weak layer of facets may be triggered, especially where the snow cover is thin.

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Over tregrensa er snødekket prega av kraftig vind, skiftande temperatur og nedbør. Ryggar og toppar er avblesne, og det ligg mykje snø i leformasjonar. Frå Jølster er det meldt om skiføre frå 2-300 moh.

Det er mogleg å løyse ut små og mellomstore skred på utsatte plassar med ferske nysnøflak.
Nokre stadar kan det ligge vedvarende svake lag som det er mogleg å påvirke, spesielt på tynt snødekke. Skred som løysast ut på dette laget kan bli store.
